FRONT RANGE LEAGUE EXPANDING INTO COLORADO

Greeley, Johnstown to host FRL baseball in 2027

GERING, NE – The Front Range League today announced expansion into Greeley and Johnstown, Colorado for the 2027 season. The league has reached agreement on playing dates at Butch Butler Field in Greeley and at the Nelson Farm Park fields, part of the Thompson Rivers Parks & Recreation Complex.

“We are proud to announce the addition of Greeley and Johnstown to the league and look forward to working with both cities to launch two great summer collegiate baseball teams as the FRL grows with professionally-operated franchises,” Front Range League President Chuck Heeman said. “Adding two teams in these great locations will allow us to play more Colorado-based teams and we invite all summer collegiate teams to visit us each summer. With our proximity to so much regional baseball talent we also look forward to attracting college ballplayers who want a great summer ball experience.”

The Greeley team will play 20 dates at Butch Butler Field between June 1 and August 8, 2027 and the Johnstown entry will play at home every Friday and Saturday in June and July 2027. Team names, colors, social media outlets and more will be announced in the coming weeks.

The 2027 season is scheduled to start June 1 and end August 8 with a 44-game season planned, followed by a best-of-three Championship Series.
